The Blues extended their unbeaten run to four games in a pulsating 2-2 draw with Champions League side Aston Villa yesterday. Despite the promising streak, the team has drawn four and lost two of their opening six Premier League games, with the elusive first win of the season still on the horizon.
Reflecting on their recent performances,
Leif Davis said “And then against Fulham as well. I think we did deserve something in the game, but who knows. Results can happen anywhere and we’re just working hard on ourselves. We’re four unbeaten but they’re not wins. It’s a good four points on the board, but there’s more to go, like the manager has said. We’ve still got the next step to go in terms of running, wanting to play, being brave playing out from the back like we were last year. Our start has been very tough, we haven’t had the easiest of starts. No game is going to be easy in the Premier League, every game is going to be a different challenge.”
He illustrated their competitive spirit by recalling their efforts against Liverpool in the first game of the season.
Leif Davis said “Take Liverpool in the first game of the season – we took them to the dark places where they didn’t want to be. Today, I think we did the same. We’ve got to keep going, improving every day and every game.”
With these reflections, it’s clear that the Blues are determined to continue their hard work and make the necessary strides to secure their first win in the Premier League this season.
