Alex Ferguson 90's

Manchester United’s manager Alex Ferguson was an edgy figure twelve months earlier when they let Leeds overhaul them in the closing weeks of the season when the Scotsman was constantly sweating over the results of the other matches. But a year later, his United was showing no signs of allowing the leadership to weight them down. And Ferguson proclaimed that it was their own performance that would determine whether they stand or fall.

Alex Ferguson said “We are certainly not going to be looking for updates on how Villa are going on at Blackburn. That sort of thing can put you off and we’ll just concentrate on our game. We are playing well and all the players are looking forward to the games.”

Manchester United were one point ahead of Villa and with just three games to go, the title could be pretty much sealed if United take all three points against Crystal Palace and Villa don’t manage to equal that performance against Blackburn Rovers.
