Tottenham have been desperate for some silverware for over a decade and many fans will be hoping that the arrival of the 52-year-old will grant this wish. Conte is also known as being a manager who doesn’t stay at clubs for long periods of time and instead he goes to a club, improves them and leads them to trophies before going on his way. The Spurs boss has been given an 18-month contract, with an option to extend, and he has already had his say on the length of the contract.
Antonio Conte said: “I think my contract is not a problem. 18 months and we decided. I understood also the sacrifices this club did for me. It’s OK but I think that the best things for us is to work together with the players, with the club and to understand that we can work together for a long time. I hope so.”
The Lilywhites still have chances to win silverware in the form of the Europa Conference League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup – once they join the competition.
