Everton manager Howard Kendall had spent his whole weekend in Holand watching NAC Breda. An unusual place to look out for players but the Everton manager insisted that the times had changed and managers had to go to unusual places to spot the upcoming talent. A month earlier he had gone to Scotland to watch Duncan Ferguson as well.
Howard Kendall said “You must spread your net if you want to get the right kind of talent. The market in this country is difficult and there is not a lot of movement. This is a sign of the times. There could be an improvement towards the end of the season when more players are nearing the end of their contract but for now, you have to look where you can.”
