Aston Villa is set to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Premier League clash that has seen its kick-off time slightly adjusted. Originally scheduled for 2:00 pm, the match will now start at 2:05 pm, along with two other fixtures. This change accommodates an earlier match between Manchester United and Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, ensuring no overlap in match action. While Villa is considered the favorite to secure a victory, manager Unai Emery remains cautious about underestimating their opponents.
Unai Emery said: “I am not feeling favourite playing a Premier League match because I know that if we are thinking that this is easier than we can prepare, we are not going to play in our 100 per cent. It is necessary to start winning the match, because even then you can lose. We can use different moments of them and I want to remind that when Wolves played with those players, with a different coach, against Tottenham away, they deserved to win and they drew.”
He continued: “This match is for me the example of how difficult the Premier League is. The coach knows us and he will try to use his capacity, trying to get some points here. After this respect is how we respond and how we want to set the objective in this match. We have to respect them, but play with our personality and our good form. To keep our good form, we have to be very demanding.”
Emery’s remarks highlight the unpredictability of the Premier League, where any team can pose a significant challenge. Villa’s recent form has been commendable, but Emery emphasizes the importance of maintaining high standards and not becoming complacent. His respect for Wolves’ capabilities, especially given their performance against Tottenham, underscores the competitive nature of the league.
The match is crucial for both teams, with Villa aiming to consolidate their position in the league standings and Wolves seeking to gain valuable points. The adjusted kick-off times for this and other matches, such as Liverpool’s game against West Ham and Nottingham Forest’s clash with Brighton, reflect the logistical considerations of the Premier League schedule.
As Villa prepares to host Wolves, Emery’s focus remains on ensuring his team approaches the game with the right mindset and intensity. The manager’s cautious optimism serves as a reminder of the challenges that lie ahead in the Premier League, where no match can be taken lightly.
