Marco Silva
Fulham manager Marco Silva expressed his pride in his team’s performance following their 2-1 victory over Tottenham on Saturday evening. This victory marked Fulham’s first away win of the season and continued their strong form, having secured three wins in their last four Premier League matches.
Marco Silva said: “I’m very proud of the boys. We have been really speaking about the games on the road, so it was very important for us to win. We knew that it was going to happen one day and we prepared ourselves again for that tonight. What a great first half from us, definitely. We got two early goals so we were clinical, but we probably should’ve scored more in the first half. The way we controlled our game during the first 35 minutes was pleasing, we didn’t leave anything for them and our fast attacks were very good. We created a lot of problems for them. It was definitely important to score early, like always, but it was the way that we kept our discipline. In the second half, we suffered in my opinion, probably more than we should’ve. We didn’t start it well and from the kick-off they created a chance that we should’ve dealt with much better. That then started to boost their confidence and slowly they were pushing us back. Our decisions when we won the ball weren’t at the best level either. We have to give credit to them for that as well. It was a well-deserved three points, a great win for us and we are very pleased.”
Fulham’s victory against Tottenham was characterized by a strong first-half performance, where they capitalized on early opportunities to establish a lead. Silva’s satisfaction with the team’s discipline and attacking prowess was evident, as they managed to control the game for the majority of the first half. However, the second half presented challenges, with Tottenham mounting pressure and pushing Fulham back. Despite this, Fulham’s resilience and strategic play ensured they secured the three points, a testament to their preparation and execution on the day.
This win is significant for Fulham as it not only boosts their confidence but also highlights their potential to perform well away from home. The team’s ability to maintain discipline and capitalize on early scoring opportunities will be crucial as they aim to continue their upward trajectory in the Premier League standings.
