Cole Palmer
Cole Palmer’s ‘Ice Cold’ Match Attax card was immortalized in a stunning two-meter ice sculpture at Stamford Bridge, creating a buzz ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Barcelona. The installation, unveiled by Topps, the trading card brand of Fanatics Collectibles, drew large crowds and added to the pre-match excitement as Chelsea secured a 3-0 victory.
Phil Campbell said: “Cole Palmer came top 10 in the Ballon d’Or this year, so that’s the sort of level of player Topps want to be working with. I’ve noticed the big-name players are so much more popular and the ice sculpture is a real statement. I’ve been involved with collecting for a couple of years now and the way the hobby is growing is unbelievable. Events like this help bring in new people and educate them on the collecting scene. It’s a really exciting time.”
Joe Heatley-Baillie, marketing director for UK & ROI at Topps, added: “Events like these are our way of bringing the world of Match Attax to life for fans. We want supporters to feel the same thrill in person that they get when they open a pack and uncover a chase card.”
The event highlighted Palmer’s status as one of Europe’s brightest young talents and was part of the 25/26 Match Attax UCC Collection. The ‘Ice Cold’ card is also a feature of the Red Hot & Cold chase series, known for showcasing emerging football stars. The installation attracted a mix of eager collectors and fans keen to explore the expanded range of Match Attax products, including ultra-rare chase inserts, player-worn relics, autograph cards, and fan-designed cards. The event successfully brought the excitement of card collecting to life, offering fans a unique opportunity to engage with the Match Attax brand in a dynamic setting.
