Andoni Iraola
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is determined to guide his team back to their unbeaten form following consecutive defeats against Manchester City and Aston Villa. The Cherries were outplayed in a 3-1 loss at the Etihad Stadium, followed by a disappointing 4-0 defeat at Villa Park. Iraola is now focused on using these experiences to propel his team forward.
Andoni Iraola said: “I’m worried because of these last two games, I felt like we haven’t been us. We haven’t been as aggressive, we haven’t been as good winning duels. I think and I hope we can use these two games to return to where we were before these last two games.”
Iraola continued: “Always you want to win the last game before the international break because you know it’s going to be two weeks there in your head and to finish with these feelings it’s not what you want. But we cannot change it. And we will be working with half of the squad or even less but with those players and the two, three days we have at the end with the others we have to prepare better the game against West Ham and try to react to these two defeats.”
Despite the setbacks, Iraola remains hopeful that Bournemouth can regain their form, which saw them go on an impressive eight-game unbeaten run earlier in the season. The manager acknowledges the importance of returning from the international break with renewed vigor, especially with their upcoming home fixture against West Ham.
The recent performances have highlighted areas for improvement, particularly in aggression and winning duels, which Iraola is keen to address. The international break provides a crucial window for reflection and preparation, albeit with a reduced squad due to players on international duty.
Bournemouth’s ability to bounce back will be tested as they aim to rectify their recent performances and climb the Premier League table. Iraola’s focus will be on instilling confidence and tactical discipline in his players to ensure a positive response in their next outing.
