Dean Huijsen
Real Madrid’s recent acquisition, Dean Huijsen, has dismissed any concerns about not training at Anfield ahead of their upcoming match, despite Liverpool’s interest in signing him before his move to the Bernabeu. The decision by Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso to forego a training session at the iconic stadium has sparked discussions, but Huijsen remains unfazed and focused on his current club.
Xabi Alonso said: “It’s just a football pitch. The players and I prefer to train at our training ground than here before the game. We are really looking forward to it.”
Dean Huijsen said: “Mentally I’m feeling really well. It was a dream of mine to be here (at Real Madrid) and I hope to give great joy to Real Madrid fans. I’ve said it many times, going to Real Madrid was a dream of mine and I wanted to play for what for me, for everyone, is the best team and best club in the world. I fitted in well with Xabi’s ideas and he told me about the club’s plan and I’m really happy to be here.”
Dean Huijsen added: “To be honest, in the press a lot was written about it and you made a big thing about something that wasn’t a big thing. He said sorry, I think that was right, he is a wonderful guy and a great team-mate. These things happen in football.”
Huijsen’s comments reflect his confidence and satisfaction with his move to Real Madrid, emphasizing his alignment with the club’s vision under Xabi Alonso’s management. Despite Liverpool’s interest, Huijsen’s commitment to Real Madrid is evident, as he perceives the club as the pinnacle of football excellence. His remarks also touch on the recent controversy involving teammate Vinicius Jnr, downplaying the media’s portrayal of the incident and highlighting the camaraderie within the team.
As Real Madrid prepares for their clash without the traditional pre-match training at Anfield, Huijsen’s focus remains on contributing positively to his new team. His journey from Bournemouth to the Bernabeu signifies a significant step in his career, and he is determined to make an impact at the Spanish giants.
