Ben Gannon Doak
Ben Gannon-Doak, a promising young talent at Bournemouth, has been working diligently to enhance his defensive skills in hopes of securing more playing time. Since joining the club in the summer, Gannon-Doak has primarily been utilized off the bench, with his sole start coming in a 2-0 League Cup defeat to Brentford. Despite limited opportunities, the young Scot is determined to make a significant impact and earn a regular spot in the team.
Ben Gannon-Doak said: “I think a big talking point for me with the coaching staff was the defensive side of the game. That’s what I’ve been really focusing on and trying to improve that. But it’s all about the defensive stuff, that’s the main priority.”
He added: “And I just, I thank him for every opportunity I get. And I know that it’s not just me, it’s not possible without him. So that’s the best way for me to stay humble.”
Gannon-Doak continued: “I don’t think me or any of the lads look too much into where we’re on the table. It’s just about the next game, the next day in training and working hard and getting better. So, yeah, it’s a great group of lads to settle into and it’s brilliant that we’re doing well right now, but just need to keep our foot on the ground and focus on the next thing.”
Gannon-Doak’s comments reflect a mature approach to his development, emphasizing the importance of staying grounded and focused on continuous improvement. His commitment to enhancing his defensive capabilities aligns with the coaching staff’s expectations, highlighting the club’s focus on developing well-rounded players. As Bournemouth enjoys a strong start to the season, Gannon-Doak’s dedication to his craft could prove pivotal in earning him more substantial roles in future fixtures. The young player’s humility and work ethic are commendable, setting a positive example for his teammates as they aim to maintain their early-season momentum.
