Scott Parker says that Wilfried Zaha is a world class player after the Crystal Palace star put in a clinical performance against Fulham. Zaha set up Palace’s first goal in a 2-1 win at Craven Cottage on Saturday, sliding a no-look reverse pass in for Jairo Riedewald to open the scoring in the first half. And in the second half, Zaha was on hand to convert, sliding in to touch home Michy Batshuayi’s cross-shot. It was the Ivory Coast international’s fifth goal of the season for Palace, as the Eagles picked up their third win to take them to 10 points from six games. And Parker admitted that his team were the latest to fall victim to a player at the peak of his powers – something Palace fans will be hoping a lot of managers will be saying this season.

Scott Parker said “He’s a world class player that you often see most weeks that Wilfried Zaha causes a lot of teams and a lot of individual players problems, That’s the quality he has. That’s what you’re going to face when you’re up against a very, very good player.

Roy Hodgson also piled on the praise for Zaha following his display, admitting that it was becoming “quite a common occurrence”.

Roy Hodgson said “Once again, every press conference begins with Wilf Zaha in some way or another and if I’m not careful I’ll have to explain to him what he regards as negative comments that were not delivered negatively, Because I don’t really come here to talk about Wilf, I come here to talk about our team’s performance. I’m more than happy today to praise him, but it’s quite a common occurrence for me praising Wilf Zaha because he does so many good things. He’s started this season so well, that’s his fifth goal, which is quite incredible really, and an assist into the bargain. So we’re more than happy with him and at the moment I think he’s happy with us and the way that we’re trying to play.”
