Sorry Spurs escaped the embarrassment of handing Swindon their first league win but it was mightly close. There were close to 32000 witnesses to return a unanimous verdict of daylight robbery as White Hart Lane’s biggest crowd of the season saw their side outplayed, outfought and completely outclassed by the premiership’s basement boys.
Ossie Ardiles said ‘’ I was very happy with the draw because we played very poorly. Our passing was bad our tackling was bad and we showed no urgency at all. At the end of the day you just have to say that it was one of those games but I am bitterly disappointment.’’
John Gorman said ‘’We shouldn’t be bottom of the premiership and come the end of the season we wont be. People keep knocking us but most of them have never seen us play. We played all the football today and were by far the better side. Even the spurs fans told me they hope we stay up. We are no soft touch anymore. We may have been a little overawed at the start of the season but we have added a lot more steel to our game.’’
