A very unique clash was on the cards that week in the premier league where the landlords of the Selhurst Park stadium in south London Crystal Palace were set to host the tenants of the Selhurst Park stadium, Wimbledon FC. The stadium had was the property of Crystal Palace chairman Ron Noades and after Charlton Athletic moved to The Valley stadium it was given on rent on a shared basis to Wimbledon. Wimbledon was second last on the table with Palace being just two places and two points better off.
