AFC Bournemouth’s young midfielder, Alex Scott, has received a call-up to the England squad, a development that has been met with enthusiasm from both the player and the club. The recognition comes after a series of impressive performances, particularly during the summer with the under-21 team, highlighting Scott’s growing reputation in English football.
Andoni Iraola said: “I think he has been playing very well. Also, I suppose the good performance with the under 21s in the summer has been also very valuable and very happy for him and also happy for the club because he’s always in an English club. To have someone representing your country, I think is good, especially for him, but also for the club.”
Iraola continued: “Everyone was very excited. He had the classical corridor we give for special occasions. And he obviously was very happy.”
When asked about advice for Scott, Iraola added: “Alex is very smart and he knows a lot of the teammates also from the young teams. And for sure he has to use this chance to learn everything he can and also keep fighting, keep being very humble. So it’s not just once. And he has more chances now to establish himself and to earn more opportunities.”
This call-up marks a significant milestone in Scott’s career, reflecting his hard work and potential. His inclusion in the national squad not only boosts his personal profile but also enhances AFC Bournemouth’s standing, showcasing the club’s ability to nurture talent capable of reaching the international stage. Scott’s journey with the England team is seen as an opportunity for him to develop further by learning from seasoned professionals. His manager, Iraola, emphasized the importance of maintaining humility and determination, suggesting that Scott’s current success could pave the way for more opportunities in the future.
