Sean Dyche Burnley
Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has expressed optimism about the team’s future under new manager Sean Dyche. Despite a challenging start to the season, Gibbs-White is confident that the team can turn their fortunes around. The Reds, currently in the Premier League relegation zone, are preparing for their upcoming fixture against Manchester United at the City Ground.
Morgan Gibbs-White said: “It’s been difficult. That was my reasoning for that. I felt like I could breathe knowing we had won a game and we could hopefully try to build on that. Unfortunately, we couldn’t. But we can still look to that Porto performance and try to make that our minimum (standard).”
Gibbs-White continued: “It’s good, it’s entertaining! It’s hard work but he’s a great guy, really demanding and wants the best out of the team. It’s about buying into his ideas and getting used to the way he wants us to play. I feel like that really suits us as a team – we showed that last Thursday night. It is about buying into what he wants, believing in it, respecting it and trying to produce it on the pitch. He has only been here a week so we are all still getting used to it. It is not going to happen overnight. We have a good group around us and his coaching staff are great – they really buy into all the players and the culture of the team. It is a matter of time before everyone buys into what he wants, everyone starts believing in it and then we really kick on.”
Gibbs-White added: “Everyone at the club is ambitious. The fans and the players are all ambitious. We all want to achieve something really special with this club so that’s the main focus right now.”
Gibbs-White’s comments come after Nottingham Forest’s recent 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth, a result that left them struggling in the league standings. However, the midfielder remains hopeful that the team’s performance against Porto can serve as a benchmark for future games. The appointment of Sean Dyche, known for his demanding nature and tactical acumen, is seen as a potential turning point for the club. Dyche’s approach has been described as both entertaining and challenging, with a focus on instilling a strong team culture and work ethic.
As the team continues to adapt to Dyche’s methods, there is a sense of optimism among the players and fans. The upcoming match against Manchester United presents an opportunity for Forest to demonstrate their progress under the new manager. With the season still in its early stages, Gibbs-White and his teammates are determined to improve their position in the league and achieve their ambitions.
