Jurgen Klopp has refused to concede defeat in the Premier League title-race despite Man City boasting an 11-point lead at the top of the table.
Jurgen Klopp said: “We don’t have to convince anybody outside to believe (we can win the title). If they want to believe, they can believe. If we would do something like this we wouldn’t do it in public. I think people are with us, they want to enjoy the ride. They are ready to go for it as much as we can. This is not the situation to talk about the title race. 11 points, one game in hand. In a normal world, nothing happens anymore but what is normal nowadays? We’ve tried to do our part. We have nothing to do with the rest.”
And Klopp was pleased by his side’s performance against the Bees following their disappointing midweek draw against Arsenal, insisting his side don’t listen to outside noise about their performances.
Jurgen Klopp said: “Winning is good for confidence but I don’t think we struggled for confidence. We can cut off the public noise. We knew against Arsenal what was not right but the world out there makes of it in the moment, obvious thing that a couple of players weren’t here, world class players by the way, we knew that. So we didn’t have to read it and could do our own thing and that’s what we did.”
