RALPH Hasenhuttl insists his side produced a “fantastic” performance against Wolves, up until the visitors equalised from the penalty spot. Asked if he is concerned about that poor spell of form,

Boss Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “I have seen 60 minutes a team that is clear on the win. The way we lost I think was hard to understand. We are six games in a row now without a point in the Premier League. What happened in the last six games was not that we were always playing bad. We had some good moments also. But in the end it’s the result we have to take.”

Saints have squandered the most points from leading positions in the division, letting 16 points slip away. Quizzed on if his side have a mentality problem given the way they responded to being pegged back to 1-1,

Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “We had a few good things after (that). We had a few chances, (should have had) a penalty for us. You can speak about getting flat. We played three days earlier a game against them. They had more rotation in their team, it was normal in the end they have more power than we have maybe. This is not so surprising for me to be honest. We played with a stronger side on Thursday, won this game and concentrated on the cup. Until that moment (the Neves penalty) we had controlled everything. It was a fantastic game until that moment from my side. It’s not so easy to keep on going when you concede an equaliser like this. Then it’s always tough to come back. We tried it, we had chances, Che (Adams) had a good one. But in the end, hard.”
