Former United striker Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that Nemanja Vidic is the toughest opponent he ever faced.

Dimitar Berbatov said  “I always say one name, first I played against him and then with him – and it was Vidic. I think Harry Maguire is the Virgil van Dijk of England if you like, he’s that big commanding figure and he’s the one who’s almost the first centre-back on the team sheet.

The duo would play together for nearly four years at Old Trafford between 2008 and 2012, winning two Premier League titles. However, the Bulgarian would line up against Vidic on four separate occasions in his spells at Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham, scoring just once and never finishing on the winning side.
