Dean Smith will take charge of his second game as Norwich City head coach when Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to Carrow Road on Saturday. Speaking Smith said there is a “growing belief” among the club that they will be able to move out of the relegation zone.

Dean Smith said: “There is a growing belief in the group, but we know, under myself, it is only one game and one result. We know we have got a tough task ahead of us with the start that we have had but if the attitude is anything to go by then we have got a really good chance [of survival].”

Smith has already been in the dugout opposite Wolves boss Bruno Lage this season, where a late comeback sealed a 3-2 victory against Villa at Villa Park, so he knows all too well that their visitors will not make it easy for them.

Dean Smith said: “It is back-to-back wins in the Premier League [for Norwich], which is very hard to come by but we are playing against a very good team now in Wolves, who are in good form and have won five of their last seven games. Bruno [Lage] has gone in there and adapted their style and it will be a tough game for us, but we are at home again and if the second half atmosphere [against Southampton] is anything to go by, if we can get supporters behind us, then it will be a tough place to come.”
