Mark Wright put aside his own future speculation and declared that even though Liverpool did not have the best of the seasons on the pitch the gap between them and the top team was very thin and they did not fear any team even if that team had won the premier league.

Mark Wright said “The line between success and failure in the premier league is very thin. We have had our critics but I don’t think anyone is going to dominate football again the way Liverpool used to. This Liverpool side is a very strong force and we are looking forward to the next season. When we played Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United at Anfield, even though we went down 1-0 at half time, we could have been 2-0 up. Every one is raving about United, we felt hard done by when we lost against them. The fans here have been turning up in numbers and they wouldn’t if we were rubbish. Every one has had their problems this season and I am no exception, I am just pleased to be playing again.”
