Mike Walker

Norwich City boss Mike Walked was adamant that his side’s heaviest defeat for 30 years would not haunt them against Blackburn rovers. Kenny Dalglish’s men hammered seven goals past Norwich in sptember. But far from surrendering to the popular theory that they had no place at the elite end of the table, five months later, Norwich was one of the teams that were competing for the title.

Mike Walker said “Revenge does not come into it. What happened at Ewood Park Is totally immaterial, whether we lost 7-1 or 1-0 makes no difference at all. All that matters is the three points.”

Apart from beating them 7-1 in the league, Blackburn had also defeated the Canaries 2-0 in the coca-cola cup.

Kenny Dalglish said, “We won’t go to carrow road thinking it’s a foregone conclusion because of these results.”
