Thomas Frank
Tottenham Hotspur is grappling with injury concerns as they prepare for their Premier League home match against Fulham. Manager Frank has confirmed that key players will be absent, adding to the team’s challenges as they aim to maintain their position in the league standings.
Frank said: “It’s part of it. We get judged when we walk into a fantastic club like this. There are expectations every day, on every performance. That’s part of the game. No problem with that. I’d love to have them ready to play for us, but they’re unavailable, other players need to step up. It’s much easier to say they’re in, when available, rather than put a timeframe on it.”
Frank added: “Radu [Dragusin] is not able to start yet but he’s progressing in training.”
Tottenham will be without captain Cristian Romero, who is suspended following a challenging match against PSG. Additionally, fellow center-back Radu Dragusin is not yet ready to start, despite having played 45 minutes in a recent friendly. The absence of these integral players places additional pressure on the squad, requiring others to step up and fill the void.
Tottenham’s home form has been a point of concern, contrasting with their generally impressive performances on the road. As they sit in ninth place, they remain within reach of the Champions League spots, but consistency is key. Frank is focused on restoring the team’s form and addressing the issues that have led to their patchy results.
The upcoming match against Fulham presents a different challenge, with Fulham having shown strong performances despite not securing the desired points. Frank expressed satisfaction with the team’s recent display against PSG, highlighting their aggression and intensity, though acknowledging the need for improvement in game management and set-piece situations.
Frank concluded: “I think actually Fulham, maybe they don’t have the points they want, I’ve watched a lot of their games, they’ve performed well, they’ve been quite unlucky with some results but it will be a different challenge but I’m pleased with the performance response we got from the players against PSG, we did the aggression in the high pressure, the forwardness, the intensity we played with should have earned us a point or points, but a bit of randomness, some set-pieces, game management and we didn’t and that’s the bit we need to learn from.”
As Tottenham prepares for their clash with Fulham, the focus remains on overcoming these challenges and securing a vital win to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
