Daniel Farke
Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is facing increasing pressure following a string of disappointing results. The Whites have suffered three consecutive defeats and five losses in their last six games, leaving them in the relegation zone with just 11 points from 12 matches. The upcoming fixtures against Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool present a daunting challenge for the team.
Daniel Farke said: “It’s not the question I am worried one second about. This is probably the most passionate club in the whole UK, I would say, even in Western Europe. So it’s more like you always have pressure each and every day. This is a hard working, very honest club, and this is the only thing that matters, that my team performs in this way. We have to return back to concede less. And this is my only worry, and nothing else.”
The Leeds United supporters have voiced their concerns, particularly during the recent match where chants for substitutions were heard as early as the 63rd minute. Farke’s decision to make his first substitution at the 71st minute drew attention to his tendency to delay changes during games.
Farke responded: “That’s totally OK because everyone can have an opinion. But I’m working in this job, and what I won’t do is have a round table before each game. I see who is ready to go and is prepared. Everyone is allowed to have their opinion, especially our supporters who are loud and are also invited to have an opinion. No problem at all. But I can’t be driven too much by the emotions. I don’t substitute them after 50 or 55 minutes, just because someone is singing. This is what I do, and it’s how I work.”
During the match, Ao Tanaka was substituted in for Anton Stach, who had suffered a concussion following a collision with Emiliano Martinez. However, Tanaka was later removed from the game after the fourth official informed Farke that he nearly received a second yellow card, which was avoided due to an advantage played by the referee.
As Leeds United grapples with their current form, Farke’s focus remains on improving the team’s defensive performance and managing the expectations of the passionate fan base. The upcoming matches against top-tier teams will be critical in determining the direction of the club’s season.
