Daniel Farke
Leeds United have managed to stay above the relegation zone throughout the current season, maintaining a steady point-per-game ratio. However, recent performances have sparked concerns among fans, leading to questions about manager Daniel Farke’s future at the club. With the team facing the possibility of slipping into the bottom three, Farke has addressed the external pressures and the passionate nature of the club’s fanbase.
Daniel Farke said: “If I have the feeling that I have to act a little bit, I will. We have to remember these guys are young people. Outside people will provoke. A Leeds United side always has to play with courage. The outside noise cannot affect what we do. If someone wants to be negative… The only thing that matters is results and hard work.”
Farke continued: “I will admit it was the poorest period of the season in the past few away games. It is my job to protect players. I work for a club where the fans are so passionate. And the club polarises. You either love the club or the other way around. If we have losses, I know everyone from the outside world will try to provoke this club. I have too much passion for this club. I know sometimes I can make my job easier – sometimes I feel I want to criticise more but I have to calm myself down because the outside world does it anyway.”
He added: “These lads are doing everything to be successful. It’s important for me to back them and to be like a shield and be positive. Not be scared but go out and play with more courage than in the last two games. After poor performances, you need reactions but you need to stay positive. This is what I want to make sure. It will always be our DNA to be proactive. We play in the best league in the world, if we have an off day we don’t have individual quality. We have to be a team.”
Farke’s comments reflect his commitment to shielding his players from external criticism and maintaining a positive atmosphere within the team. Despite acknowledging recent struggles, he emphasized the importance of resilience and teamwork. The manager’s focus remains on fostering a proactive playing style, which he considers integral to Leeds United’s identity. As the club navigates through a challenging period, Farke’s leadership will be crucial in galvanizing the squad and securing positive results.
