Tottenham Hotspur faced a challenging match recently, with several players dealing with injuries that could impact their upcoming fixtures. As the team prepares for their next matches, updates on key players like Cristian Romero, Randal Kolo Muani, and others have emerged, providing insights into their recovery timelines and potential return dates.
Thomas Frank said: “He was just done physically. He just came back from that injury. He’s fine.”
Cristian Romero was seen leaving the pitch gingerly during the final minutes of the match, raising concerns among fans. However, Frank reassured that Romero’s departure was not due to a new injury but rather physical exhaustion as he continues to recover from a previous setback. Romero is expected to be available for the upcoming clash against Arsenal on Sunday, November 23.
Frank said: “Mo got the knock and just couldn’t make it for this game. I really expect it to be a short one. It was just too short a turnaround from the Chelsea game one week ago. I’m quite confident he’ll be ready for the next game.”
Randal Kolo Muani was substituted at half-time, sparking speculation about a possible injury. Frank confirmed that there was a minor issue, but he remains optimistic about Kolo Muani’s quick return, aiming for the Arsenal match as well.
Frank said: “I think the international break will be the big deciding factor because we have two weeks there to push in the next steps. As I say, it’s going forward. Just to take it instead of the questions every single time because it was clearly that he was not ready before the international break. It’s more, we look after the international break, that’s what we’re aiming for. I think we always want to get it right, but I think it’s important to get it right so he’s out there, can help the team, and we need him back.”
Dominic Solanke is another player under the spotlight, having undergone ankle surgery. His recovery is progressing, but he is not expected to return until after the international break in December. Frank emphasized the importance of getting Solanke’s recovery right to ensure he can contribute effectively to the team.
Frank said: “Lucas got a concussion, which was probably pretty obvious from the footage. Big praise to the medical team, because it’s a tricky situation to be in when it’s two minutes into a game.”
Lucas Bergvall, who missed the match against Manchester United, is currently undergoing concussion protocols. Frank praised the medical team for their swift action, and Bergvall is expected to return to training soon.
Frank said: “Deki is still not on the grass. We’re working very hard to get him fit as quickly as possible.”
Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison are both in the early stages of recovery from severe knee injuries. Kulusevski is targeting a return in January 2026, while Maddison’s recovery is projected to extend into the summer of 2026.
Frank said: “He’s fully integrated into training now. An ACL [injury] is not tricky, but it’s such a big injury, because you’re out for nine months, so you need to build strength in the knee. He is definitely getting closer to being involved. I think we plan to play him in a friendly [during the Nov break], as I understand it.”
Radu Dragusin is nearing the end of his rehabilitation from an ACL injury. Having resumed team training, Dragusin is expected to participate in a friendly match during the November break, with a potential return in December.
Frank said: “Kota is a quad problem. He’s about to be training, soon.”
Summer signing Kota Takai has yet to make his debut for Tottenham due to ongoing issues with plantar fasciitis and a quad problem. Takai is anticipated to resume training soon, with a potential return date set for late November.
