The 35-year-old, who traveled to Spain with a group of fellow City supporters, was found dead in his apartment in Benidorm, a tourist resort approximately 130 miles from Villarreal’s stadium. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support his grieving family, with a target of £25,000. The page has seen an outpouring of support, including a significant anonymous donation of £8,500.
A family member said: “He was so well-known in Wythenshawe, and by City fans. He was really gentle, kind, and caring. He was never in any trouble. He never had any enemies. He lived for City and his young daughter.”
A Manchester City spokesman posted on X: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Guy Bradshaw, a City supporter who tragically died in Spain before the Club’s match against Villarreal last night. Everyone at the Club sends their condolences to his family, friends, and fellow fans during this difficult time. Once a Blue, Always a Blue.”
Guy Bradshaw, a former student of Parklands High School and Ringway Primary School, was a well-respected figure in his community. He ran his own carpet cleaning business and was known for his devotion to Manchester City and his 12-year-old daughter, Ava. The suddenness of his passing has left his family and friends devastated, especially as they face the financial burden of repatriating his body to the UK due to a lack of travel insurance.
Tributes have poured in from friends and fellow fans on social media. One friend expressed their sorrow, saying, “RIP to the biggest blue there ever was! Absolutely gutted for his family and especially his young daughter. Rest in peace mate.” Another shared, “Devastated to hear the passing of Guy Bradshaw whilst away watching the Blues. Top lad, worked with him a few years back and used to see him at matches. My thoughts are with your family pal.”
