Christian Norgaard
Christian Norgaard has made it clear that he dreams of returning to Brondby when his time in the Premier League comes to an end. Despite signing a new two-year contract with Brentford earlier this year, Norgaard is looking ahead to eventually fulfilling his ambition of playing Champions League football and returning to his roots.
Christian Norgaard said: “When I one day return to Denmark, it will be Brondby. Brondby is a club that I developed a special connection to when I played for the club.”
Norgaard’s connection to Brondby runs deep, having spent nearly five years at the club before moving on to Fiorentina in Italy and subsequently the Premier League. His recent comments mark the second time he has expressed a desire to rejoin Brondby, although he remains committed to his current stint at Arsenal.
Christian Norgaard said: “Whether it will be two or three years at Arsenal has not been decided, but we will return to Denmark when the contract expires. I can guarantee that Arsenal will be my last club abroad. I still want to return to Brondby when my contract with Arsenal expires. And I would be happy to stay at Arsenal for the extra year if things develop in that direction. If it turns out that it wasn’t the right fit, then we’ll return to Denmark after two years.”
Norgaard’s journey in north London has been challenging. The defensive midfielder is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Arsenal, though he did make a brief appearance in the Champions League win over Athletic Club. Last season, he was a key player for Brentford, making 34 appearances, scoring five goals, and registering four assists.
While Norgaard is not planning to leave Arsenal imminently, his comments suggest a well-thought-out plan for his career’s future trajectory. His commitment to returning to Brondby underscores the emotional connection he maintains with his former club, even as he navigates the challenges and opportunities of Premier League football.
