Jack Harrison Leeds United
Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has been making the most of the international break to enhance his game, working closely with personal football trainer Ethan Sonis in Marbella. The focus of these sessions has been on maximizing limited game time through high-speed dribbling and shot-taking drills, along with one-on-one situations against sparring defenders. Sonis, who has also worked with renowned players like Sergio Aguero and Christian Pulisic, has been instrumental in Harrison’s development, emphasizing the winger’s dedication and readiness to contribute to Leeds United’s Premier League ambitions.
Ethan Sonis said: “I want people to really know the true side of Jack. I know his history with Leeds in the past. But ultimately he’s working extremely hard for the group and I don’t see other players at Leeds as prepared as him, making the most out of everything. Then after that it’s about performance on the field when it really counts to execute. The guy is more dedicated, I think, than 80% of those guys at Leeds. He wants Leeds to stay in the Premier League, he wants to help in any way he can. Jack respects the decisions, he’s humble and he’s just ready. But I do think like any football player, once you have three, four, five games under your belt consistently and you get one goal, your confidence skyrockets from there. All I can say is, hey, he’s ready to go if you need him, if there’s an injury and he’s going to have to go for a string of three or four games. I think you’ll get the best out of him. The guy’s not shy of putting in a shift and working his tail off on the field for everyone.”
Harrison’s commitment to improving his game is part of a broader effort to win back the support of Leeds fans. After exercising a contract clause that saw him spend two years on loan at Everton, Harrison faced a challenging reception from the Leeds faithful. However, his recent performances and gestures, such as buying fans a pint before the opening game against Everton, have started to mend these relationships. His efforts to connect with supporters and his dedication on the field reflect his desire to be an integral part of the team.
Ethan Sonis said: “I know it was tough to re-accept Jack, but I know the human he is, and he’s a phenomenal human being. He’s showing it with his actions. He respects the process and trusts it. I think for the fans it’s to rally behind someone like Jack because he is a player as a fan you can relate a lot more to than some of these other players that have a bit more of an ego. He represents Leeds extremely well. As a trainer for him, working with him, I know how hard he works. I believe in the kid and I believe in how much he cares about the club.”
Harrison’s mental state has also seen significant improvement, according to Sonis. The winger is reportedly in his best mental condition yet, fully prepared to seize opportunities when they arise. His positive outlook and commitment to the club are expected to showcase a side of Harrison that Leeds fans cherished in the past.
Ethan Sonis said: “He’s happy. I tell you, he’s in his best mental state I’ve ever seen him. You know, he wants to play like any player right but he understands the situation and he also knows that, hey, when my number gets called I’m going to be as prepared as possible. Mood-wise I’ve never seen him this happy. He’s like ‘look this is Leeds, this is my club, I believe in them, I’m gonna help’. And he makes the investment, he’s working so much off the field. Once you start to hear more and more about it you’re like ‘**** this guy is one of us’. He works very hard and mentally he’s in a good spot to contribute. And I think from there, Leeds [fans] will see a different side of Jack, the one that they all fell in love with a couple of years ago.”
As Leeds United continues its Premier League campaign, Harrison’s dedication and improved mindset could prove pivotal in their quest to remain in the top flight. His journey back into the hearts of Leeds supporters is one to watch closely.
