Gabriel Jesus Manchester City
Palmeiras president Leila Pereira has expressed a strong desire to bring Gabriel Jesus back to the club, marking him as the dream signing ahead of the upcoming January transfer window. Despite Jesus’s current commitments, his boyhood club remains keen on securing his return to the Allianz Parque in São Paulo. During his tenure at Palmeiras, Jesus emerged as one of South America’s most promising young talents. This reputation led to Manchester City acquiring him for £27 million plus add-ons when he was just 19, amidst interest from several top European clubs.
Leila Pereira said: “Of course Gabriel Jesus. And I’ll say more.”
Jesus has been in impressive form, scoring three goals in his last four Premier League matches. Earlier in the festive season, he also netted a hat-trick against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals. However, his momentum was halted after a knee injury led to surgery, requiring him to leave the Emirates Stadium on a stretcher. Following his recovery, Jesus has resumed training at the Sobha Realty Centre.
The Arsenal boss said: “He had major surgery that was going to take him many, many months. So, after discussing that with the medical staff and understanding the schedule that we had and when we thought that he could be available, that it would be between December and January, we decided to make that call, like we’ve done in the past with other players.”
Gabriel Jesus said: “You can see the motivation because the feeling to win a trophy like the Premier League, everyone knows how tough it is. When you’ve already won it, you just think I want it again, again and again.”
Jesus’s career has been marked by significant achievements, including being an English champion four times with Manchester City before his move to Arsenal. His ambition and drive to succeed are evident, as he remains motivated to win more trophies. The potential return to Palmeiras could offer him a new chapter in his career, blending his past successes with future aspirations.
