Lamare Bogarde
Lamare Bogarde, the promising Aston Villa midfielder, continued to impress with his recent performances in the Premier League. Bogarde, who started in Villa’s 2-1 win over Burnley, was a standout player, having also delivered a strong showing against Fulham the previous weekend. Over the past 18 months, Bogarde has made significant strides, becoming a key part of Unai Emery’s first-team plans. Initially utilized in various positions such as right-back and centre-back, Bogarde has now found his footing in the midfield double pivot, often playing alongside Boubacar Kamara or John McGinn. This role appears to be where Emery will allow him to focus and develop further.
Lamare Bogarde said: “It is always good to start games. Last year, I started a couple. This season I feel like I can do more and I think the manager feels that now, as well. He feels he can trust me. I think I did well today. I think I have the most fun playing as a six, in midfield. I have played in a lot of positions and I feel like I am capable of doing that. That is what the manager likes as well, players who can play in different positions. That’s a positive. But I think that is a good thing. We can push each other every day in training. I am learning every day in training from those kind of players, like Amadou. Boubacar Kamara as well, every day I am learning. It is an honour to play with them on the pitch. Today, he earned the start. I think he is an unbelievable player. He scored two goals and wasn’t happy because he wanted a third one. He is an unbelievable player. I’m very happy for him. He always works hard. I think mentally too, he is strong. He just keeps working. He is an example for the young players. Whenever he gets called up, he does his job.”
Bogarde’s recent performances underscore his versatility and potential in the squad. His ability to adapt to different positions has been a valuable asset for Emery, who appreciates players with such flexibility. Bogarde’s development in the midfield role, particularly in the double pivot, highlights his growing importance to the team. Learning from seasoned players like Kamara has further enhanced his game, allowing him to contribute effectively on the pitch. As Villa continues to build momentum in the league, Bogarde’s role could become increasingly pivotal, offering Emery a reliable option in midfield.
