Jhon Arias
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Colombian player has shared insights into his adaptation to the Premier League and his aspirations for the team as they prepare to face Brighton at Molineux. Having recently delivered a standout performance against Tottenham, the player is eager to build on this momentum and secure a victory in the upcoming match.
Jhon Arias said: “I feel good. I feel better with the team, with the ideas of the coach. I think in the last week, I feel I’m playing better with my team-mates, with the league. It’s a different league, so I’m still working to be better, for better performances, and to help my team. It’s different. Different intensity, the duels, I think it is very different. The weather is different. So, for me, I know it’s normal, the adaptation to this league, to this country, the language, but I feel better and I am going the correct way.”
Jhon Arias continued: “I felt good at Spurs. I think we played a good game. Unfortunately, we didn’t win the game and we were so close to winning, but I feel we had a good game, and this is the way for the next game and for the rest of the season. It was good for me, for my family (winning player of the match). It was a special moment. My first man of the match is good, against Tottenham away, it’s a difficult game. So, a special moment. We want to collect more wins and to be happy here.”
Discussing his playing position, he added: “In Brazil I played more outside, more as the winger, but for the national team I play inside, in the middle. For me, it’s the same, it’s good. Obviously, for me I’m more familiar outside.”
Looking ahead to the Brighton match, he stated: “Brighton are a good team. I think it’s a very difficult game, but I think we have the chance to win the game. We need to win for our confidence, for our fans, for our family. So, I want to win Sunday.”
The Colombian’s reflections highlight the challenges and adjustments faced by players transitioning to the Premier League. His comments on the intensity and weather differences underscore the unique environment of English football. Despite these challenges, he is optimistic about his progress and the team’s potential.
Wolves will be aiming to capitalize on their recent draw against Tottenham as they host Brighton. The player’s recent accolade as man of the match against Spurs has boosted his confidence, and he is determined to contribute further to the team’s success. The upcoming fixture against Brighton presents an opportunity for Wolves to secure their first win of the season, which is crucial for building team morale and satisfying their supporters.
