Gareth Bale is a hero in N17, having shot to super stardom, earning a world-record move to Real Madrid as a result of some scintillating performances in a Lilywhite shirt. Bale has won everything there is to win at the Bernabeu, justifying his world-record transfer fee, helping Los Blancos to four Champions League titles But he has never quite been the poster boy that the Spanish supporters wanted. Many have tried to win over the vitriolic Madrid fans and many have failed, with Bale among that clan to have struggled to become a fans’ favourite. Gareth Bale has warmed the hearts of the Tottenham fans who will be clamoring for him to return ‘home’ during an interview with Jake Humphrey on BT Sport Throwbacks.

Gareth Bale said: “I think everybody loves tuning into watch the CL finals and obviously Tottenham were there, so I had a very keen interest and was hoping they would get to the final like they did. There were some great matches, especially in the semi-finals, but for us Tottenham fans it was a bit disappointing in the final, but you have to look at the bigger picture and they did great to get there and made a good account of themselves.”

There are rumours around his future every single transfer window, with a move to the Chinese Super League mooted last summer, before Madrid pulled the plug on the deal. His astronomic reported £600,000 a week plus wages will make any return to Spurs highly unlikely, but the supporters will always dream and the media will always link him with a return to N17, given his past in north London. Bale is likely to be high on the list of potential transfers once again this summer, although the coronavirus outbreak will make clubs be even more careful about their expenditure. Bale saying “us Tottenham fans” will melt the hearts of other Spurs supporters around the world.
