Nottingham Forest were unbeaten that month and had moved from eighth in the table to fifth with 10 points in four games in that month. This was the second time Clark had won this award in his career. After the disappointment of going down with Brian Clough, Clark was building a Forest side who was starting to compete for European spots once again.
