It had been less than seven days since Bobby Gould had left Coventry in a dramatic fashion and resigned as a manager. And now there was news that he was set to be back, but this time as an owner! In an amazing new twist to the saga following his resignation the former Sky Blues’ manager announced that he wanted to take over the club.
Gould owned around 40 shares in the club already and revealed that the club’s decision to sell Zimbabwean international player Peter Ndlovu to ease the £3.5 million debt sparked off his resignation.
Bobby Gould said ‘’I haven’t got the finances yet but I have got public support. And I can ask for that because I know there are people out there who have got the money.’’
