Bryan Robson’s ambition to finish his playing career at Manchester United could cost him the manager’s job at Sunderland. Robson was linked with Roker Park in Mid November when manager Malcolm Crosby offered to resign.
But Robson chose to stay with United and had to make a minimum of 10 league appearances to qualify for a title medal – Robson had been injured for much of that season and was about to make a comeback to the first team after two months out with hamstring trouble.
