Jack Grealish
In a recent statement, Thomas Tuchel addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding Jack Grealish’s chances of being selected for next summer’s World Cup finals. Speaking at the Air Albania Stadium, Tuchel indicated that he would re-engage with the 55 to 60 players on his longlist, which he developed upon taking the managerial role in January. This announcement comes as a beacon of hope for Grealish and others who aspire to represent England on the world stage.
Paul Dickov said: “I love him as a player, I love him as a person and it’s great to see him back enjoying his football again. Last season he will openly admit that it wasn’t his best. The season before, he struggled with injuries. But then that treble-winning season, he was consistently Man City’s best player in that. In all the big games, European games, he was the one that turned up and really produced. It’s just great to see him enjoying his football again at Everton, playing every weekend. He’s got the talent, he’s got the ability and if he keeps showing that on a consistent basis, which he has done already this season, I think he’s got a great chance. He wins fouls to disrupt play, and he’s a special talent at doing that. There’s nobody in the England squad that can do what Jack can do. So I really hope he continues his wonderful form and he gets his chance because I know he’s desperate to get back into that England squad.”
Despite Grealish’s impressive start to the season at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with five goal contributions in the Premier League, Wayne Rooney recently cast doubt on his World Cup ambitions. Rooney, speaking on his show, suggested that Grealish should ‘book his holiday for the summer now’ due to the slim chances of making the England squad.
Wayne Rooney said: “Jack Grealish may as well book his holiday for the summer now because he’s not getting in the squad.”
Grealish’s form has been a topic of discussion, with many acknowledging his ability to impact games, especially when coming off the bench. His unique skill set, including his knack for winning fouls and disrupting play, sets him apart from others in the England squad. As the season progresses, Grealish’s performances at Everton will be closely monitored, and his continued excellence could indeed bolster his chances of a World Cup call-up.
