Jack Grealish
Jack Grealish, the England international, has been making waves at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with his contract at Manchester City nearing its end next summer. As the 30-year-old continues to impress with his performances, there is growing support among fans for Everton to secure his services permanently. Despite being left out of the England squad by manager Thomas Tuchel, Grealish’s recent form, including four assists and a dramatic winner against Crystal Palace, has sparked calls for his return to the national team.
Don Hutchison said: “I think Jack summed it up well recently in an interview. He said people are overthinking it. He knows other players are in the same form he is and that Thomas Tuchel is sticking with the players who played well for him already. This continuity with the same group makes sense for England. He left out Jude Bellingham, left out Phil Foden, Adam Wharton and Grealish. But Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who’s not played loads for AC Milan, is still in. I think Jack would love to be back in the squad, but I don’t think it will be bothering him too much right now.”
Hutchison continued: “Grealish is certainly doing everything he can to convince Tuchel in a World Cup year. Right now, we are seeing a player who is just loving his football. He’s probably in the best headspace he has been for years. He’s playing well, and all players really want is to be playing well and regularly. It’s not rocket science. Give a player games, tell him he’s loved, give him a free role. Tell him he’s the best player at the club and he has the keys to Hill Dickinson Stadium. Tell Jack he’s the main man and he can be a maverick again. That’s all he wanted to be. He’s winning the league, winning trebles. He was amazing for City at times and what a career. At Everton, despite all he did at City, he’s gone to another level. This is the best place for him, and I’m sure he and his agent will be hoping to convince David Moyes and Everton to make the deal permanent.”
Grealish’s impact at Everton has been undeniable, with his performances elevating the team’s play and earning him the Premier League Player of the Month award for the first time in his career. Despite being omitted from the England squad, his focus remains on his club performances, where he continues to thrive. The call for Everton to make his move permanent is gaining momentum, with many believing that the club is the perfect environment for Grealish to continue his upward trajectory.
As Grealish approaches the final year of his contract with Manchester City, the decision on his future looms large. With his current form and the backing of fans and pundits alike, the prospect of a permanent move to Everton seems increasingly appealing. Whether David Moyes and the club’s management can be convinced remains to be seen, but for now, Grealish is enjoying his football and making a strong case for a long-term stay at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
