Liverpool and Arsenal Eye Julian Alvarez Amid Atletico Madrid Commitment

Premier League Museum Transfers

Liverpool and Arsenal have reportedly shown interest in Atletico Madrid’s forward Julian Alvarez, as revealed by Spanish journalist Matias Palacio. Despite the Premier League giants’ interest, Alvarez seems committed to his current club, suggesting his stay in Spain is far from over.

Matias Palacio said: “Arsenal and Liverpool are very interested in the striker. If the offer is higher than what Atlético paid less than a year ago, it will be brought to the club’s board of directors to make the exit possible.”

Enrique Cerezo said: “Julian Alvarez is a player of Atletico de Madrid. He’s very happy here, he is our player and he will remain our player. He was raised at Atletico Madrid and he will die at Atletico Madrid.”

Alvarez’s recent social media activity further indicates his contentment at Atletico Madrid. The 25-year-old forward expressed gratitude towards the club, referring to his time there as his “first” season, hinting at a long-term commitment. This sentiment is echoed by Atletico’s president Enrique Cerezo, who firmly stated that Alvarez is not for sale and emphasized the player’s deep-rooted connection to the club.

In the meantime, Atletico Madrid appears focused on bolstering their squad, particularly in defense. Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen is expected to join for £30 million, while Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is also on their radar. Additionally, the club is closely monitoring attacker Florian Wirtz, as they aim to strengthen their attacking options.
