Nuno Espirito Santo gives update on Morgan Gibbs-Whites Future at Nottingham Forest Amid Transfer Speculation

Morgan Gibbs White

Morgan Gibbs-White’s standout performances for Nottingham Forest have sparked widespread transfer speculation ahead of the upcoming summer window. The 25-year-old playmaker has been instrumental in Forest’s impressive campaign, drawing interest from several top Premier League clubs.

Gibbs-White has played a pivotal role in Nottingham Forest’s success this season, contributing significantly to their potential Champions League qualification and their journey to the FA Cup semi-finals. His versatility and leadership on and off the pitch have made him an indispensable figure at the club. Despite the rising interest, Forest are keen to retain their star player, who is under contract until 2027.

Nuno Espirito Santo said: “For me, Morgan is a top, top player. So much talent, so much quality, the level of performance he is giving to us, with the ball, off the ball.”

Gibbs-White’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Manchester City reportedly considering him as a potential replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who is set to leave the club this summer. Other Premier League giants, including Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur, have also been linked with the England international.

Nuno Espirito Santo continued: “The speculation is always there. It’s not us. Normally when teams perform well, the players get attention. But I really believe our players are all focused on the task ahead. You can not ever be relaxed. You always have to be aware of things. But Forest is a huge club and I think the players enjoy being here. That’s not the major issue. The major issue is that the player wants to be here. This is what really counts. We are a big club.”

Despite the interest from top clubs, Gibbs-White has expressed his commitment to Nottingham Forest and his desire to help the team achieve Champions League qualification. His dedication to the club and its fans has been evident since his arrival, and he remains focused on the task at hand.

Morgan Gibbs-White said: “It would be incredible. We’ve spoken about it in the changing room, imagine hearing the Champions League anthem at the City Ground and how loud it’s going to be. It’s something we want to do as a team, to give back to the fans after so many years of struggle and heartbreak. It’s something they deserve more than anyone. That’s what is driving us more than anything, being able to give back to the fans who have supported us through thick and thin. That’s the most important thing.”

The club has reportedly placed a £100 million price tag on Gibbs-White, reflecting his importance to the team and their reluctance to part ways with him. As the summer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether any club will meet Forest’s valuation and if Gibbs-White will remain at the City Ground.
