Eddie Howe discussed Joelintonâs yellow card suspension for the Ipswich Town game when asked about the incident.
Eddie Howe said âItâs bizarre how things work. Iâm talking to him from the side, heâs right in front of me and Iâm saying âJoey, donât get bookedâ, and heâs like âdonât worry I wonâtâ. Two minutes later he gets booked. You just couldnât make it up. In some senses sometimes these things happen. Iâm disappointed to lose him because heâs a player we need in every away game but at least he can now play free and play his normal game.â
Eddie Howe provided an update on Nick Popeâs injury after being asked about his status.
Eddie Howe said âHe saw the specialist and the feedback is that heâs going to be out for around a month, so bad timing for us and for Nick because there are a lot of games in that four-week period. We hope that after that four weeks, heâll be in good enough condition to play. He injured himself just passing a ball against Brentford. It was really innocuous-looking, it was a left-footed pass, but his knee didnât feel particularly good afterwards, so thatâs the plan.â
