  • QPR 2 – Sheffield United 1 – Rangers get crucial three points as Sheffield United boss fumed over refereeing decisions

Sheffield United boss Dave Basset launched a furious attack on referee Keren Barratt of Convetry after his team’s 2-1 defeat at QPR.

Dave Basset said “He made two scandalous decisions concerning Alan Mcdonald. First McDonald ran into Chris Kamara and the referee gave them a penalty which cost us the game. Then McDonald should have been sent off for a professional foul when kamara was through on goal and the referee gave a bounce up.”

The three points were crucial for Queens Park Rangers who had a difficult start to the season and had lost three out of their first four games but after beating West Ham 4-0 a week earlier, the West London side looked back to their best in the game against the Blades. The goals for QPR came from Trevor Sinclair and Clive Wilson.
