Jurgen Klopp has declared that Liverpool will be looking to “strike back” against Arsenal on Monday at Anfield. The Reds have tasted defeat in each of their last two contests with the Gunners. The first victory for Mikel Arteta’s men came in the Premier League back in July when Alexandre Lacazette and Reiss Nelson cancelled out Sadio Mane’s early goal. Liverpool had already been confirmed as domestic champions by the time that clash came around and their form had dipped but it will naturally give Arsenal hope they can do it again. A second defeat for the world champions came at Wembley in the Community Shield in August after a 1-1 draw was settled by penalties, with that game coming in the middle of what can only be described as a rather topsy turvy pre-season.

Jurgen Klopp said “Results give confidence, But analysis is there so you can judge the games in the right way. It’s not like Arsenal smashed us and we had absolutely no chance, so they know it’s a different game and we know it’s a different game. So the last result, in this case is not too long ago, it’s just one information and not the only information. We want to strike back, Let me say it like this – that is the situation we are in and it can be a better situation depending on how we use it.”
