Referees accept few mistakes in VAR decisions

[hr]

Premier League has acknowledged the VAR decision’s were incorrect in few situations.

Marco Silva’s side were 2-1 up when Michael Keane was adjudged to have fouled Aaron Connolly following a contentious review by Lee Mason. Premier League have privately admitted an error was made on the advice of video referee Lee Mason. Everton were also denied a penalty at home to Tottenham Hotspur previous weekend when Dele Alli handled the ball.

Riley, a former referee and the managing director of the officials body Professional Game Match Officials Limited previous had pointed more mistakes during opening rounds of the season – Two penalties which should have been awarded to Manchester City and West Ham, and that a Newcastle goal should have been ruled out for offside. Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans should also have been sent off for his challenge on Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson in the match on August 31.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: The list of VAR mistakes and unpredictable decisions leading to outcomes in matches is long and embarrassing for the premier league chiefs. Of all the predictions for the impact of video-assisted refereeing upon Premier League culture, the notion that it would remove controversy and so erode post-match discussion was easily the most misguided. So far in the Premier League, VAR has encountered – or provoked – two distinct issues. The first is the lack of consistency in its approach, both over its introductory months in English football and in comparison with other leagues. VAR’s second failure lies in its willful ignorance of the experience of match-going supporters. There is little to no communication during and after reviewed incidents. Supporters have to check social media for information that directly relates to what they have paid to watch live. It is killing the product.

Manchester United are not premier league title chasers

[hr]

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Manchester United are “out of reach” when it comes to challenging for the Premier League title, but he is setting his sights on other trophies.

He told reporters: “I don’t want to stop winning in cups because the Premier League trophy is out of our reach. We are too far behind the top teams. Any trophy you can get your hands on we are going to go for – but we need to improve our league form definitely. You always get assessed on results now, but the DNA of this club – and it’s always been in our philosophy and my philosophy to give young players with the right attitude a chance and if that takes a couple of years for him to really, really come through, it’s worth it for us. I’m managing for Man Utd, I’m not managing for me.”.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: At this moment, Manchester United “seem” to be  prepared to play the long game when it comes to forcing their way back into contention for the very top honors.A shift in philosophy at Old Trafford has seen greater emphasis placed on home-grown talent and academy graduates. There was a unexpected “backing” from CEO Ed Woodward who stressed that Manchester United will be patient as the club rebuilds under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Let’s hope we get to see the fallen giants rise again.

Frank Lampard wins prestigious manger of the month award

[hr]

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for October.

On his reaction to the award, Lampard said “Winning an individual award like this is the perfect time to appreciate the close staff who have worked so hard since pre-season and the players, as they are the ones who go out and perform. I am delighted for everybody. Out of the Premier League games we played in October, the one away against Burnley was the highlight because of the way we were so dominant in our performance and it is a very tough place to go.”

Apart from Lampard, Jamie Vary also won player of the month award for October. Vardy, 32, played a crucial role for Leicester as they established themselves as legitimate top-four contenders in October, netting four goals in three appearances.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: PREMIER LEAGUE FANS have to feel happy for Lampard and his success with Chelsea this season. Tasked one of the most difficult assignments  as his former boss Mourinho had pointed out, Lampard is the first english coach to win Premier League Manager of the Month since Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe in October 2018. He has not only made Chelsea club smiling with young cavalier approach to football but also brought entertainment to a mostly tactical counterattacking team under Conte, Ancelotti and Mourinho ( the 2 winners with the club )

Eddie Howe urges his team to grind results

[hr]

Eddie Howe has praised the “steeliness” Bournemouth have demonstrated in recent weeks but urged his side must “push on” from their win against Manchester United last weekend.

Eddie believed his team were buoyed by consecutive performances where team had defended well and got clean sheets. Howe said “Last week was great and we were really pleased with the performance and a lot of aspects of our play. But the most important thing for us now is to try and push on from that performance and try to hit or get close to that level every week.I  will just be saying to our team out of possession to continue their good work. To have the same mentality we have shown in recent weeks because I have been really pleased with that side of our game. We have had a steeliness in the last few games that has made a big difference and we want that to be part of our DNA.”

[hr]

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: Bournemouth squad is having an unexpected defensive performance in last few rounds. The general impression of PREMIER LEAGUE FANS so far was Eddie Howe is a strong organizer of his team in attack but defense is chaotic. Part of the improvement lied with defensive reinforcements and focus on improving it . However in upcoming round it remains to be seen whether Bournemouth can maintain defensive shape as AFC Bournemouth travel to Newcastle without Colombia international and record signing Jefferson Lerma due to suspension.
