Pep says Mane is a diver

[hr]

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola aimed a little dig at Liverpool star Sadio Mane, who snatched a late winner for the Premier League leaders on Saturday. Mane was also in the headlines after he was booked for simulation in the victory over Villa, and Guardiola could not resist at taking a dig at the Reds top scorer for the dive.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: Premier League Fans have seen the league’s history  dominated by managers squabbling. In the early days this was almost exclusively about Sir Alex Ferguson winding up opposition managers, with his barracking of Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan particularly infamous. Ferguson once suggested that Blackburn might “do a Devon Loch,” referring to the horse that famously threw away the Grand National in 1956, jumping an imaginary fence and falling flat on the floor while leading the race. Then Ferguson suggested Manchester United’s fixture pile-up meant their 1996-97 league campaign should be extended, Wenger — rightly — rejected the idea. “It’s wrong the programme is extended so Man United can rest and win everything.Ferguson had wound up Rafael Benitez, teasing him into his famous “facts” rant in 2009, which took place just before Liverpool suffered a poor run of results.

Frank Lampard and his managerial magic

[hr]

Former Chelsea players who played alongside Frank Lampard have said the player was always destined to become a top manager. Few things they talked about included –

He was recognized as a natural leader of men when he arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2001. Frank was always crazy about winning – both individually and as part of the team. He used to be really sick after a defeat. When things went wrong for his team Frank changed into a different person. He was not afraid to stick the boot in. But as soon as the match was finished he was enough of a gentleman to shake hands.Frank was someone who can always put things in perspective and knows what matters most in life.

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: PREMIER LEAGUE FANS have seen Lampard overcome a tough start to his Chelsea reign to guide the Blues into the top four of the Premier League. He has not only exploited the young and experiences players to their full potential but also carefully rotated them to ensure success on the pitch. He has made the club well liked and definitely performing at levels not expected at the start of the season.

Can Holgate hold Everton defense together

[hr]

Marco Silva has confidence in Mason Holgate heading up Everton’s defence. The 23-year-old could be called upon for Tottenham’s visit to Goodison Park on Sunday with Yerry Mina currently a doubt for the Premier League clash.

Silva insists that he has full faith in his existing options which includes Holgate. He said “I think everyone understands we were looking for another central defender because we, like all the clubs in the world, normally prepare for a season with four. If you have just three and try to sign a fourth one is a normal thing. It’s not because we didn’t have the confidence in Mason. It’s full confidence but we need three or four. Mason knows how I believe in him since last season, not just this season. He’s a young player who wants to play more every time because we decided for him to go on loan last season and he’s again here, ready to fight ready to play in our team. I’m 100 per cent sure he’ll keep working hard to improve because he has many things to improve, like with Michael and Mina.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: Everton failed to land another central defender in the summer transfer window after failing to secure a permanent deal for ex-loanee Kurt Zouma from Chelsea. PREMIER LEAGUE FANS agree with Silva that premier league season’s are long and physically taxing. A squad is needed to play a season and not just 11 players starting the season on the pitch.

Secrets of Sheffield United success

[hr]

Since becoming manager of his boyhood club in the summer of 2016, Wilder has taken the Blades from League One to the Premier League. After 11 matches and the form of all clubs in the premier league, it appears they are here to stay for at least one more season.

We got to know a few insights from player John Fleck who started along with manager Chris Wilder on their journey. He said – ” Since the manager came in the club has been on the up and we still seem to be going that way. We all understood how difficult this league was going to be and how hard it is to pick up points, but we’ve done well so far. However, we know there are more tough games to come as well so we must keep working hard because we can always improve.”

[hr]

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: PREMIER LEAGUE FANS feel Sheffield United’s meteoric rise under Chris Wilder is down to one simple thing – hard work. There has not been one game where the players seemed uninterested or had a off day . They grind out performances even if the quality played against them is obviously superior. They did not have a hounding so far and the club , players and manager look committed on every single match day.
