Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has already set his sights on next week’s Boxing Day bout against Newcastle United after both sides won in last night’s Carabao Cup Round of 16 matches.
Youri Tielemans said: “Obviously, the Premier League is back and it’s going to be a good game on Boxing Day and a great atmosphere, I’m sure. Hopefully we’ll get another win. We can enjoy this game because it was a good one and we are through to the next round. We are very happy as a team. From tomorrow on, we’ll focus on Boxing Day and try to get a win.”
Tielemans also praised their fans for travelling down to Milton Keynes, and claimed that they can be the difference makers between them winning and losing, something they’ll need against a good side like Newcastle.
Youri Tielemans said: “There were more behind that goal than in the other (part of the) stadium. They always travel with us, they’re always behind us and even through tough times at the start of the season, they were there. It’s pleasing to see and hopefully we can give something back with a performance like this tonight.”
