Hannibal Mejbri has revealed what the Manchester United coaching staff have told him about earning future first-team minutes after making his debut at the end of the last campaign. The 18-year-old made his senior football debut as a late substitute during the club’s final day win over Wolves in the Premier League, capping off a wonderful season that saw him crowned Denzil Haroun Under-23’s Player of the Year.

Hannibal Mejbri said: “The club has a great history and everyone always tells me about it. Everyone would keep telling me that when I first came here. When you pull on that United shirt, you have to have that desire to win and that hunger for trophies, which I think is really impressive. United has an entire history of producing excellent young players and I think that the manager is continuing that. I think that United, as a club, has had some great young players throughout its history. The manager has faith in young players, which is a good thing for me, and I’ll be trying to grab any opportunities that come my way. But the most important thing, just as he said to me, is to work hard and never give up. Each time I wear the red shirt, you simply have to have that real desire to win that’s the impression I got when I first arrived here.”
