Tottenham starlet Troy Parrott has joined League 1 side MK Dons on a season-long loan. The 19-year-old spent the first half of last season with Championship outfit Millwall before he was later recalled by Spurs in January after failing to score in any of his 14 games for The Lions. He was then sent to League 1 club Ipswich Town for the remainder of the campaign where he notched two goals in 18 games to help guide The Blues to a ninth-placed finish in England’s third tier. Parrott will again be loaned out in search of first-team minutes and he admitted that joining The Dons, who Spurs defeated 3-1 in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday, is the perfect step in his footballing development.

Troy Parrot said: “I’m really happy to be here. The way that the team plays suits me and the way that I want to play – I’m looking forward to being a part of it. Russ has wanted me to come here previously but for one reason or another it hasn’t happened. He’s made it known that he wants me, which is a good feeling to have. I’m just happy to be here now and I can’t wait to get going. I hope to bring goals to the team, of course, but I also want to contribute by linking play and getting on the ball as much as possible. I saw last night how good the team is at creating chances and, as a striker, I can’t wait!”

The young forward is highly rated at Spurs and his sky-high potential has also been recognised by his native Republic of Ireland, who gave him his international debut against New Zealand in 2019.
