Raheem Sterling’s stock could hardly be higher after shining for England at Euro 2020. He scored three times, two winners for Gareth Southgate’s side, and was a candidate for the player of the tournament award. Yet The Athletic, via the Mirror, report that he is one of the players that may be put up for sale by Manchester City to fund moves for Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish and his Tottenham Hotspur counterpart Harry Kane. City boss Pep Guardiola wants to strengthen his side further despite winning the Premier League last season, mainly because of the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League final. Guardiola cast doubt on a big-money move this summer during an interview with the Spanish press earlier this month.

Pep Guardiola said: “I don’t know how the market will end. I don’t know, with Txiki Begiristain, (City’s director of football), what we can do because many times you want to do things that are not possible. What we can do, we will do and if we do not continue with the squad we have, with which we have won three Leagues in four years, we have finally reached a Champions League final.”
