New Liverpool signing Luis Diaz has sent a message to Porto fans after he completed a £49million move to Anfield. Liverpool swooped to secure the signature of the Colombian after he was the subject of a bid from Tottenham Hotspur just days earlier. Diaz and Porto rejected Tottenham’s advances as he had his heart set on a move to the Reds – once he knew of their interest. The new Liverpool number 23 was loved amongst the Porto fans as he excited them with his skilful play and goals.
Luis Diaz said: “You are eternal to me. God thank you for bringing me to a club that became my home and my family’s. Thank you FC Porto, for taking back the best memories of a full Dragao… the noise, the emotion, the affection and the unconditional support, are unique sensations that I will always remember.
