Pep Lijnders has refused to concede the Premier League title despite Liverpool suffering frustration at Chelsea. The Reds, hampered by a host of absences, threw away a two-goal lead as they were held 2-2 by the second-placed Londoners at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The result means Liverpool now stand 11 points behind Manchester City in third place, albeit with a game in hand.

Pep Ljinders said: “It was an incredible game,” said the Liverpool assistant manager. “It is never boring with us. We never look at others. The title race is only decided on the last match and there are still so many points to collect. We have this difficult situation, you never know as the opposition could get difficult situations. But we have to focus on ourselves, that’s how we always did it and that’s why we got into the position where we are. That’s how our team developed and how they are at this moment in time, because we only focus on the next game, to make it a final and give everything we have and with this we become better. With this we became champions and won the Champions League and won the other two cups as well. That’s what we have to keep doing. A big compliment to our team because if we keep this fighting spirit up and play a little bit better than we have a big chance in the next games.”
